Sister Accidentally Shot Dead By Brother While Teaching Her How To Clean A Handgun

A University of Iowa graduate student was on her way to a family gathering last weekend when her brother accidentally shot and killed her while demonstrating how to clean a handgun.

The Sac County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Wednesday that 24-year-old Megan Quinn Sloss, of Guthrie Center, was driving Sunday with her 26-year-old brother, Spencer Lee Sloss, when she was shot.

Investigators say Megan was in the driver’s seat and her brother was in the front passenger seat at the time of the incident, which took place at around 11.40am Sunday near Lake View, Iowa.

The Sloss siblings were on their way to a family event in Ida County, and later they were planning to do some target shooting.

Spencer Sloss was showing his younger sister how to disassemble his Sig Sauer 9mm handgun to clean it when it discharged, striking her in the hip.

Her brother had to climb over the arm rest to stop the car after his sister was shot, and he then called 911 for help and carried Megan out of the car.

A doctor driving by stopped to render medical aid until Sloss was taken to Loring Hospital in Sac City. She was then flown to Mercy Medical in Des Moines, where she died from her injury.

Officials say Spencer Sloss has a valid permit to carry the handgun. No charges have been brought against him, and the shooting remains under investigation.

Tragedy!!! Fuel Tanker Runs Over Tricycle and Passengers [See Photo]

Two persons have been reported dead after a commercial tricycle rammed into a fuel tanker at Oke-Afa, Isolo, Lagos.

The incident happened on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Randuck Filling Station, located in the area.

According to Punch, four passengers were in the vehicle when the accident occurred. Two of these passengers are in critical condition at the hospital.

Jibola Oladokun, a witness at the accident scene said the unfortunate incident happened because the tricycle rider was not patient.

He said, “The tanker had just discharged fuel at a filling station nearby (not Randuck). It was driving out of the station around 9am when the accident happened.”

“While the tanker was reversing, a bus and the tricycle, which were on different lanes on the road, were speeding towards the tanker.”

“At this time, about 20 per cent of the tanker was on the road, while 80 per cent was still inside the station.”

“The bus driver was able to apply the brakes, but the tricycle rider couldn’t as the tricycle went under the tanker.”

“A sharp rod in the tanker pierced the rider and the passenger beside him. They died on the spot.”

It took the assistance of observers to bring out the victims from the wreckage, before law enforcement officers were called to the scene.

The fuel tanker driver reportedly fled the scene.

17-year-old Daisa Sulton (left) and 15-year-old Mikayla Mosley (right) lost their lives just hours after taking this photo at their prom on Saturday night, May 14th.

The teens were killed in a car accident on their way home from their high school prom in New Jersey.

According to the police, Daisa was driving Mikayla and two other girls home after their celebration when she lost control of the car, skidded off the road and crashed into a tree. Daisia and Mikayla were killed instantly.

Miss Romania 2014 kills 4 in an accident

 Four people including a 5-year-old girl were killed when a car driven by former Miss Romania Diana Dinu, 25, crashed into a horse-drawn cart, when it suddenly pulled out into her path. Four people in the cart died while four others are in a critical condition in hospital.

Miss Dinu, who was driving an Audi, was unharmed along with her three passengers. Police say the driver of the cart, Marian Batoaga, 46, was drunk and had pulled out into the road without checking if there was anything coming. Officers said Miss Dinu was unable to avoid the impact and hit the wooden cart head-on near Haret, in Eastern Romania's Vrancea County. Three of the dead victims were from the same family.

They were named as Dorel Constantin, 52, Corina Constantin, 42, Gabriela Constantin, 5, and Cosmin Rinza, 26. County Police spokesman Adrian Huzum said the driver of the cart could face charges for being drunk and irresponsible for the accident and an investigation has since been launched.
 Dinu, who was voted Miss Globe Romania 2014, will represent her country in the final stage of the modelling competition this November in Turkey.

Woman runs over her husband after arguement, kills him (Graphic photos)

 A woman intentionally ran over her husband in Lanham, MD, Maryland, USA with her SUV on Sunday afternoon after they argued over something. The man, who you can see under the tyre (right pic) was pronounced dead on the scene.

The suspect, Araceli Alvarez-Mendoza, 37, and her husband, Fernando Fragoso-Duana, 36, got into an argument at their home on the 9400 block of Worrell Avenue, according to Prince George's County police. Fragoso-Duana then left the home and began walking in the neighborhood. Mendoza followed her husband in an SUV and intentionally ran him over with the vehicle, police say. "She ran him over. I sat there and I watched her, she did that on purpose," a witness told News4.
She opened her front door to find the wrecked vehicle in her front yard, and said Mendoza stepped out of the SUV screaming. Mendoza then tried to pull her husband from underneath the vehicle to no avail. A neighbor tried using a car jack to lift the car off of Duana.

Police arrived the scene and found Duana unresponsive underneath the SUV. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Mendoza is charged with first-degree murder and has admitted her involvement in her husband's death, police said.

Trailer collapses on a car conveying family of six killing, four on the spot

The governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has condoled the family of the victims of the ghastly motor accident which occurred today at Finotel Junction along Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, Awka. According to an eye witness, a loose trailer fell on a car conveying the family of six killing four on the spot including their parents. Saddened by the development, governor Obiano has undertaken to pay all medical bills to be incurred by the surviving duo who are receiving treatment at Anambra State University Teaching Hospital, Amaku. Expressing his condolence for the lives lost, Obiano assured Ndi Anambra that he would ensure safety of lives and regulated movement of heavy duty vehicle within the state.

WTF!!! Car flew into the roof of a house and crashed with no one injured or dead (photos)

Nobody got killed or injured after this car flew and landed on the roof of this house in Kwamakhutha Township in Durban, South Africa this morning. The driver of the car said he drove over a ramp causing his car to somersault and crash-land on the roof of the building. Someone who was sleeping when the car landed on the house ran out unhurt. Pillar collapses on car in Shomolu, Lagos, kills driver (photos)

The unfortunate incident happened this morning somewhere in Somolu. According to an eye-witness, just a few seconds after the driver of this car packed, the pillar directly opposite it fell on it, squashing both the driver and the front side of the car. When the driver didn't attempt to come out of the car after the incident, people went closer to the car and found he had been killed by the pillar. The car was later dismantled to get him out. Wife dies in fatal crash while pursuing her husband who was driving with another woman

A married woman based in Houston Texas lost her life yesterday afternoon in a tragic car accident after her car had a head-on collision with another car while she was chasing her husband who was carrying another woman. The woman apparently lost control of her car and went into a spin, striking another vehicle head-on. She died at the scene and the man in the vehicle that she had a head-on collision with sustained injuries and was taken by Life Flight to an area hospital. The woman's husband and the woman with him were unhurt. So sad!

Power bike rider crushed to death by Train in Lagos

The body of A motorcycle rider identified as Yakubu Samuel was at the early hours of this morning Feb. 19th crushed to death by an Ebute Metta-bound train coming from Ijoko in Ogun State. According to PM News, Yakubu ignored the Nigeria Railway Corporation traffic control officer who stopped all vehicles to pave way for the train to pass at the Fagba level crossing in Iju Ishagba, one of the rail terminal points. He was obviously in a hurry and so he ran into the train and was crushed to death on the spot. Yakubu was a security officer at CLAM church in Omole, Lagos. Sympathizers at the scene of the accident used his phone to contact his family members.

this woman is extremely lucky to be alive after her car drove off a rock wall of a car park and into a harbour and began sinking. The petrified woman was squashed up against the rear window as the front end of the car was submerging in the Waitemata Harbour in Auckland at 3pm on Tuesday. Fortunately witnesses called emergency services as quick-thinking policemen arrived and sprung straight into action by jumping into the water to save her, one attempting to break the glass with a baton, before the second officer broke the glass with a rock pulled from the water.

The officers and a bystander couldn't open the doors so one of the officers tried to smash the window with a baton with no luck. Once it became clear that it was not going to penetrate through the glass another officer was handed a rock and managed to shatter the rear window. The relieved woman was then pulled to safety by the two heroic policemen.

The two officers who saved the woman's life - Paul Watts and Simon Russell - have described the dangerous rescue, and revealed they believe she could have been less than a minute away from drowning. 'When we entered the water, I was talking to one of the (members of the public) who was trying to balance the vehicle and he said he was looking for a rock to try and smash the window,' Mr Russell told the New Zealand Herald. He said once his baton failed he successfully broke through the window with a rock, but by this time the car was sinking at a rapid rate. 'At that time the car actually started to move very fast into the water.
I was trying to hold the car, slowing it down from entering the water,' Mr Russell said. Mr Watts and Mr Russell then managed to pull the woman from the car to safety, but said they got her out just in time. 'It was pretty close, probably 30 or 40 seconds after we managed to get the female out of the car, the car was already slipping further into the water,'
Mr Watts said. 'I'd say she'd probably only had maximum probably another minute, minute-and-a-half if she hadn't got out,' he told the NZ Herald. Mr Watts described the dramatic rescue as 'pretty much part of a routine job being a police officer' in another interview, saying the whole operation only took about 40 seconds.
The car was fully submerged just a minute after the woman was freed from it.

William Bruce Jenner smashes 69yr old woman to death

Bruce smashed his Cadillac Escalade into the back of the woman's white Lexus, which was then pushed into the path of a Hummer, leaving the vehicle a crumpled wreck and the sole occupant dead.  "Bruce Jenner may not be the driver who caused a woman to die on PCH Saturday ... because law enforcement tells TMZ they now believe the Prius that led the pack made a sudden stop, causing the Lexus to crash into it ... BEFORE Bruce hit the Lexus. As TMZ first reported ... Sheriff's deputies were suspicious of the story the Prius driver told. She said she was stopped at a red light, but she was 300 feet from the light. When cops asked her if there was a line of cars in front of her she was vague. Deputies think she might have been making an illegal U-turn. So the current scenario is this ... the Prius came to a sudden, possibly illegal stop on the highway.
The Lexus hit the Prius and then Bruce slammed on his brakes, swerved right but was unable to stop, slamming into the Lexus. The Lexus then went into oncoming traffic and hit the Hummer, killing the Lexus driver. It appears there is no criminal liability on Bruce's part. As for civil liability, there is a law that you cannot follow too close and need to prepare for sudden events. But if the Prius stopped without warning ... that driver could be at the very least partly responsible for the accident. 6:00 PM PST -- Jenner released a statement about the crash saying,
"My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident." Bruce adds, "It is a devastating tragedy and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them. I will continue to cooperate in every way possible.”

Amazing recovery of 16yrs old girl, 16, who lost her hair, fingertips and half of her skin in freak home explosion 2 months ago

The fire was so aggressive it went right to the fat beneath her skin, leaving her hands washed out. Her mother and stepfather were at work when the house exploded and Kilee ran out the half destroyed walls into the street on fire. Her neighbours began throwing buckets of water on her as they made efforts to call her parents. She was rushed to a helipad with her mother then flown to Cincinnati Children's Hospital 20 minutes away, then transferred to the specialist unit at Shriner's down the road where her father met them. In the emergency room doctors cut open her arms in a desperate bid to reduce the swelling, while she was given oxygen, an IV, and doused in antibiotic solution. Incredibly, the 16 year old has made a quick recovery two months later and and this week she took the ultimate step to go back to school. After four operations, skin grafts on her hands, and two months of physiotherapy, Kilee has returned to RULH High School, where she is honour student and plays soccer. She is one out of many lucky people who have escaped the harsh effect of fire outbreak. "I guess I'm just lucky,' Brookbank said to WCPO "It makes you stronger. You don't take anything for granted. It's life changing. I know there's worse things that can happen.' Few could imagine anything much worse than lighting a candle to get rid of a foul smell, then almost burning to death. 'It felt normal,' she said. 'My body felt the same, kind of numb. My hands felt different. I remember it was very hot, but it didn't hurt.'
