Nigerian Troops today foil suicide car bombing in Borno North.
The incident occurred at about 9.15AM on Tuesday morning,

The suicide bombers arrived in a pickup vehicle primed with Improvised Explosive Devices including suicide vests.

They attempted to force their way through the checkpoint but met stiff resistance from troops who insisted that the vehicle be thoroughly checked.

The suicide bombers refused and blew up themselves by detonating one of the suicide vests killing all the eight Boko Haram terrorists on board.

Sister Accidentally Shot Dead By Brother While Teaching Her How To Clean A Handgun

A University of Iowa graduate student was on her way to a family gathering last weekend when her brother accidentally shot and killed her while demonstrating how to clean a handgun.

The Sac County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Wednesday that 24-year-old Megan Quinn Sloss, of Guthrie Center, was driving Sunday with her 26-year-old brother, Spencer Lee Sloss, when she was shot.

Investigators say Megan was in the driver’s seat and her brother was in the front passenger seat at the time of the incident, which took place at around 11.40am Sunday near Lake View, Iowa.

The Sloss siblings were on their way to a family event in Ida County, and later they were planning to do some target shooting.

Spencer Sloss was showing his younger sister how to disassemble his Sig Sauer 9mm handgun to clean it when it discharged, striking her in the hip.

Her brother had to climb over the arm rest to stop the car after his sister was shot, and he then called 911 for help and carried Megan out of the car.

A doctor driving by stopped to render medical aid until Sloss was taken to Loring Hospital in Sac City. She was then flown to Mercy Medical in Des Moines, where she died from her injury.

Officials say Spencer Sloss has a valid permit to carry the handgun. No charges have been brought against him, and the shooting remains under investigation.

Tragic! Bodies Of 2 School Boys Found In River

The Yobe State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has disclosed that some fishermen have recovered corpses of two school boys from River Nguru in Yobe State.

Yobe State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Muhammadu Fari, who said this while speaking with newsmen on Thursday noted that the school boys likely to be between 13 and 14 years might have gone to the river for fishing before the tragic incident.

According to him, the fishermen recovered corpses of the two boys from the River on Wednesday and an autopsy is currently ongoing to determine the cause of their death.

He, however, urged parents and guardians to monitor the movement of their wards to prevent future reoccurrences even as the rain intensifies.

Veteran Nigerian actress Bukky Ajayi, 82, is dead.

Kunle Fawole popularly known as Abounce (actor and rapper) who is the son of the actress confirmed her passing away to Nollywood website TNS.

“Mumsie passed away about thirty minutes ago. God knows best” he told the website.

Another reliable source close to the veteran actress also confirmed the passing away of Bukky Ajayi. TNS also states that she passed away “after a battle with heart-related issues.”

Bukky Ajayi was a widely respected actress in Nollywood. On June 15, 2016, a group of Nollywood actors paid a visit to the veteran actress at her home.

See How 2 Nigerian Migrants, 32 Others Going To Europe Died In Sahara Desert

Two Nigerian migrants seeking greener pastures in Europe, via Libya, have died in the Sahara Desert, within the borders of Niger.

Although the two Nigerians were not identified by the Nigerien authorities, they were among the 34 migrants, including 20 children, found dead in the vast desert after being abandoned by their smuggler, according to a statement read on Nigerien television on Wednesday.

The nationalities of other victims were not also revealed by the government.

Agadez is a popular way-station for migrants attempting to traverse the Sahara Desert and reach Libya and eventually Europe.

Of the adult migrants, nine were women and five were men. They died between June 6-12, Interior Minister Bazoum Mohammed said, adding that President Mahamadou Issoufou expressed his condolences to their families.

Tragedy!!! Fuel Tanker Runs Over Tricycle and Passengers [See Photo]

Two persons have been reported dead after a commercial tricycle rammed into a fuel tanker at Oke-Afa, Isolo, Lagos.

The incident happened on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Randuck Filling Station, located in the area.

According to Punch, four passengers were in the vehicle when the accident occurred. Two of these passengers are in critical condition at the hospital.

Jibola Oladokun, a witness at the accident scene said the unfortunate incident happened because the tricycle rider was not patient.

He said, “The tanker had just discharged fuel at a filling station nearby (not Randuck). It was driving out of the station around 9am when the accident happened.”

“While the tanker was reversing, a bus and the tricycle, which were on different lanes on the road, were speeding towards the tanker.”

“At this time, about 20 per cent of the tanker was on the road, while 80 per cent was still inside the station.”

“The bus driver was able to apply the brakes, but the tricycle rider couldn’t as the tricycle went under the tanker.”

“A sharp rod in the tanker pierced the rider and the passenger beside him. They died on the spot.”

It took the assistance of observers to bring out the victims from the wreckage, before law enforcement officers were called to the scene.

The fuel tanker driver reportedly fled the scene.

Legendary boxer, Muhammad Ali, 74 who was rushed to a hospital outside Phoenix, Arizona and reportedly on life support after he was found ‘barely breathing’ at his home on Thursday has died.

Ali was surrounded by his family who rushed to be at his bedside on Friday after doctors warned his condition was ‘rapidly deteriorating’, Radar Online reported.

Ali was taken to hospital on Thursday with an ‘unshakable cough’ which was complicated by his Parkinson’s disease.

Former Chief Justice Of Nigeria, Mohammed Uwais Son Who Joined ISIS Is Reportedly Killed In Syrian Airstrike

According to Sahara Reporters, 41 years old son of former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Mohammed Uwais, Ibrahim Uwais who reportedly left Nigeria with his two wives and children in February last year to join the Islamic terror group, ISIS, was killed yesterday May 9th near Aleppo, Syria during an airstrike by the United States targeted at members of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

A source told the Sahara Reporters that Ibrahim was one of numerous Islamist terrorists who perished as US military aircraft bombarded known ISIS camps near the besieged Syrian city of Aleppo.‎

News of Ibrahim joining the terror group broke last year. His father served as the Chief Justice of Nigeria from 1995 to 2006.

Mother of legendary rapper Tupac Shakur has passed away

The mother of legendary rapper Tupac Shakur has passed away at the age of 69. Afeni Shakur’s death was confirmed on the morning of May 3 in a tweet from the Marin County Sheriff’s Department in California. The message says that Shakur died on the night of May 2.

KRON reports that Shakur suffered a heart attack at her home in the San Francisco suburb of Sausalito. The station adds that she was rushed to a local hospital at around 9:45 p.m. and was pronounced dead at 10:30 p.m. TMZ reported in March 2016 that Shakur was divorcing her husband of 12 years, Gust Davis. The gossip site said that Davis wanted half of the $20,000, Shakur’s gets every month from her late son’s legacy.


Since the divorce proceedings began, the Source reported that Shakur had been living in a houseboat.

According to Marin County officials, the sheriff’s coroner’s office are the lead investigators in determining Shakur’s cause of death.

During 2Pac’s youth, Shakur spent time penniless and addicted to crack, according to Tupac Online. Famously, she was also a member of the Black Panther party during this time.In April 2010, Shakur was arrested in North Carolina and accused of weed possession. She owned a ranch in the state.

PDP Chairman, Alhaji Saruku Suraju Dies After Marathon S*X

The Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party,PDP in Ipokia local government area of Ogun state, Alhaji Saruku Suraju has died in a hotel in the town of Ipokia. He was aged 68.

It was learnt that the PDP leader, famously called Aro Meta had gone into the hotel with a female friend, who disappeared before he was found dead.

His death at De Lovers Hotel on Friday night has triggered a number of conspiracy theories. It also caused to be postponed the conferment of an Islamic chieftain title on him at the town’s central mosque.

He was to be turbaned on Saturday as Giwa Adinni of Ibatefin Central Mosque, but the ceremony had to be postponed indefinitely.

According to family sources he died around 9:00pm on Friday and he was buried on Saturday, according to Islamic rites.

“Yes,he died at De Lover hotel. What I know was that,his party, PDP was going to have the final meeting of those to be elected as officers of the party in their forthcoming Congress.

“He was on his way to the meeting when they said,a lady called him on his phone and asked him to join her in the hotel. It was his body that was later taken out from the hotel with series of speculations flying around.

“Some people said he was strangled to death by unknown people,while some said he was killed by a chemical substance which he inhaled via a handkerchief. What all these means is that his death may have a political undertone.

“We were told that he had a misunderstanding with someone in the party over the chairmanship seat,as he wanted to return to the office while other candidates are coming out”.

There were also speculations that he died of Magun, certain death arising if a man makes love to a charmed woman.

The PDP chieftain had three wives in his lifetime. But none was living with him at the time of his death.The man was staying alone without any woman living with him as at the time he died.

Two sisters burnt to death in filling station fire in Osogbo

Two children of the same parents were burnt to death in a fire outbreak at `Bovas’ petrol station in Osogbo on Wednesday, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports. An eyewitness who spoke on condition of anonymity, told NAN that the victims were children of the owner of the station.

The mother of the children also suffered burns while trying to rescue her children. The Director of the state Fire Service, Mr Michael Ogundipe, who confirmed the incident while speaking with journalists said that two lives were lost in the fire and that the cause of the fire had yet to be determined. "We responded immediately we were called and sent two vehicles.
We have equipment but there was congestion on the road which slowed down our movement. We met the fire burning and observed that the construction of the building did not follow the guideline. There was no exit route. No fire extinguisher was there.

They would have been able to battle the fire if they had extinguishers,” he said. The director said that the remains of the children had been deposited at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology morgue while their mother was also receiving treatment at the same hospital. Eyewitnesses said the woman and her three children were inside the mini market attached to the filling station when the fire started. The woman was able to rescue one of the children.

This is so sad! Fast rising track artist Skiibii Mayana, who was signed to 5 famous person song label, has died. Skiibii collapsed in his sitting room this morning and before help could come to him, he died.
Proper now, no person is aware of the cause of death. Just the day past, Skiibii and label mate Harrysong had been at unique radio stations promoting their music (percent above became just 18 hours ago - now he's useless). He changed into genuinely dressed to go out whilst he collapsed and died. I've a photograph from the scene but i will go away it on my own. Skiibii was just 22 years vintage.

Trailer collapses on a car conveying family of six killing, four on the spot

The governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has condoled the family of the victims of the ghastly motor accident which occurred today at Finotel Junction along Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, Awka. According to an eye witness, a loose trailer fell on a car conveying the family of six killing four on the spot including their parents. Saddened by the development, governor Obiano has undertaken to pay all medical bills to be incurred by the surviving duo who are receiving treatment at Anambra State University Teaching Hospital, Amaku. Expressing his condolence for the lives lost, Obiano assured Ndi Anambra that he would ensure safety of lives and regulated movement of heavy duty vehicle within the state.

Woman slices neighbour’s throat during argument

Helen Okeke has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly killing her neighbour, identified only as Rose, in the Ikota, Ajah area of the state. It was learnt that Okeke slit Rose’s throat after the duo reportedly had an argument over who poured urine on the latter’s clothes that were spread on the entrance door to her room. It was gathered that Rose, who was reportedly getting ready for her wedding, had returned from work in the afternoon, and noticed a foul smell on the clothes spread on her door. It was learnt that the deceased went to the landlady, Alhaja Iyabo Hamzat, to report the matter.
The landlady was said to have pacified her, offering to give her the money to buy some detergent to wash the clothes. However,a short time after, other neighbours, heard Rose’s sudden cry for help in the corridor. The suspect was said to have been found holding the deceased by the neck, with a bloodstained kitchen knife in her hand. Rose however died before she could be rushed to a nearby hospital. The matter was said to have been reported to the Ajah Police Division, Ajiwe, and Okeke was arrested. According to reports, Alhaja Hamzat said she had served a notice to Okeke, commonly known as Mama Chinedu, on several occasions to pack out of the house, adding that the suspect refused to leave. She said, “At about 5pm that day, Rose came to my apartment. She said she came to report Iya Chinedu.
“She said when she returned from her workplace, she found her curtain, towel and other clothes drenched with urine. She said she suspected that it was Iya Chinedu who poured the substance on her clothes. “I begged Rose and told her that I would give her money to buy detergent to wash the clothes. She had hardly returned to her room when we heard screams of ‘help help!’ We all rushed there and we saw Rose in a pool of blood with Iya Chinedu holding a bloodstained knife. “With shock, we rushed Rose to a hospital, but she died on the way.
“Iya Chinedu moved into my house just last year. She moved in with her son. The son later left, saying she was fed up with her mother. I had served her quit notices on several occasions, but she refused to move out. “I went to the police at Ikota to report her, but the policemen there said they would not meddle in landlord-tenants’ affairs.” Another resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that Okeke had been moody before that day.

Another resident in the area, identified only as Blessing, said after Okeke had stabbed her neighbour, some angry youths beat her up. She said, “Mama Chinedu did not show any remorse at all. Some boys became angry and beat her up.
“Everyone was shocked, and wanted to find out what offence was committed that made Okeke to stab the young lady.” The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the incident. He added that the matter would be transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba, for further investigation.
He said, “The police visited the scene and removed the corpse to a public morgue in Yaba. “The suspect has also been arrested. She will be transferred to the SDCI after the police have concluded their preliminary investigations.”
